GADS!!! I’ll bet most nights I don’t get 3 hours sleep….In fact…when the geezer gets up some mornings I’ll SAY….”WOW…I SLEPT ABOUT 3 HOURS last night…”
I can be so SO tired and dozing while we’re watching the 10pm news…but when Billy clicks that button to turn off the TV it’s like he clicked a button to wake me UP…WIDE AWAKE….
Now I don’t get up and do laundry or iron or clean cabinets when I can’t sleep….I’ve seen one or two post that they DO that….But I don’t claim to be a saint and the middle of the night is NOT for cleaning house….there are people SLEEPING….AND I work non stop all day and I’m not about to work non stop all night.
I ALSO do not play on the computer when I can’t sleep….I spend so many hours on the computer a day now…just doing blog work…I don’t ‘play’ with the computer at all….I try to skim facebook at least twice a day…but I’m finding I’m missing many of your announcements about family illnesses and problems….so if there’s anything you think I would want to know or you want help praying about…please private message me….I just don’t have the time for surfing facebook any more….
But I decided to write about insomnia this morning and the possible health hazards OF it…and this is what I found:
Sleeping less than 6 hours a night, increases your chances of heart attack by 50% and you’re 4 times more likely to have a stroke…..Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllll sheeeeeeeessshhh….I guess I’d better start trying to break those little pills up and taking them that Patel gave me 3 years ago….But THEY put me in a COMA and I DO NOT want to spend the night in a COMA…..
It also said insomnia affects our immune systems in a negative way…..well great….
I found that getting less than 5 hours of sleep a night is like trying to go through your day with an alcohol level of .05….Now I can’t hardly believe THAT and know nothing about alcohol…I’ve never even had one sip and wouldn’t take one. I do pretty good….When it’s 4am or 5am and I DO wake up if I’ve been to sleep…I wake UP just as quickly then as I do at 10am….I’ve always said I’d have made a SUPER emergency room doctor because I can be wide awake and taking on the world in .2 seconds….
My research says that 1 in 3 people nod behind the wheel and 2 in 3 drive when they’re very drowsy and 1 in 5 accidents are from people driving when they’re too drowsy.
It said that most women get about 7 hours of sleep a night and men get about 6.7. I can’t help but wonder WHAT men and women did they interview to find this OUT. “I” don’t know of ANY women my age that sleeps well. MY doctor says it’s from post menopause…but I don’t think so. I think mine is an over active mind that just will NOT shut up and go to SLEEP….
Well….have we solved the insomnia problem for anyone? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we’ve just given all of us insomniacs more to worry about….like the health HAZARDS of us not sleeping…
I’ll try to find an alternative medicine answer just hang on.
