It begins with little things, one right after the other and before you know it – instead of having a home that’s tidy and warm and cozy – you’re a Hoarder and being contacted by The Hoarder’s TV show to be in their fall lineup.
But I want this blog to be an inspiration for homemakers everywhere.
There is an art to being a good homemaker and the work is never ending, we get very little praise or thanks for the endless hours we put in day after day – but still – it’s a job any one of us can do and do perfectly if we just set our minds to it.
Really ‘homemaking’ is one of the most important jobs a woman can have outside of being a good wife and mom.
I mean – what’s more important that keeping a home warm and cozy for those you love the most? AND TOO – it just makes US feel good too – to be in an uncluttered space that’s all ours and is our haven away from that cruel old world out there.
Rules For Becoming a Hoarder
Geezer’s Rule for Tidiness
Geezer has always had a rule from the time the kids were little and he’d say “Don’t put it down put it away”
And he’d say “IF you don’t have time to do it right the first time – WHEN are you EVER going to have time to do it OVER?”
I’m not a perfectionist by any sense of the word – although Geezer IS. His closet looks like something out of a magazine. But even though I’m not as organized as Geezer – I still can’t STAND a littered home and I’m always on top of the litter.
When we sit down for our evening time I like the dishes to be done and put away – everything in it’s own place. Carpets vacuumed – although I don’t do this daily. I like everything neat and tidy and my little lights on throughout the house. The bed turned down all neat and the pillows fluffed.
ANYBODY can have a neat home and should want one. The condition of your home affects the way you feel – whether you realize it – or not.
We talk weekly on our “love” days about ways to make our relationships better and I truly believe that a few of the things most husbands really want is a clean and neat home, good meals on time and a wife with a good and positive attitude!
That’s a small price to pay to be able to say you’re married to the grandest old Geezer God ever put on the face of this earth.
Peace and love … I love you all gobs and thanks so much … for stopping by!
