Dehydration! What are the signs, symptoms and remedies? Well for one – if you’re thirsty – that’s your first sign you are dehydrated. If you’re thirsty – your body is already beginning to get dehydrated – so you need water and you need it now. But you need to be SIPPING that water –
Gulping water down – when you’re thirsty – won’t help your dehydration – because the gulping – is going to make that water run right through you. You need to be sipping that water so it can be absorbed into your body.
Signs of Dehydration
If it’s warm weather and you’re outdoors at work or play and you just begin feeling a little over tired – THAT alone is a sign of dehydration. Dizziness, nausea, muscle spasms, irritability, headache, disorientation – all those things point to dehydration. If your urine is darker than normal – THAT is a sign of dehydration. Dehydration is something that can wreck havoc on your body and is SO avoidable. We’ve all heard it said that we can go possibly 4-6 weeks without food – but only a few days without water. Our bodies NEED a constant supply of water – to keep all of our organs functioning properly. DID YOU KNOW – that lack of water – or being dehydrated – can also affect your heart beat? So going without water – that’s like playing with dynamite and hoping you won’t get hurt.
Benefits of Lemon Water
So many people say they just don’t like water – and that’s why they don’t drink much of it – but we even have a remedy for THAT. Water is very refreshing when we’re thirsty – but if you just can’t handle plain old water – just add the juice of 1/2 to 1 whole lemon and a pinch of Himalayan salt. Doing that – not only provides your body with the hydration it so desperately needs – you’re giving your body – other much needed nutrients at the same time. And that little bit of lemon and sea salt? THAT is ALSO going to jump start your adrenal glands.
Foods That Hydrate –
There are also ‘foods’ that hydrate – and even though we need to be drinking water along with those foods – at least the foods are helping to some extent.
Some of those foods that hydrate are –
cucumbers – 90% water –
tomatoes – 94% water –
watermelon – 92% water –
lettuce – 96% water –
celery – 96% water –
bell peppers – 92% water –
zucchini – radishes – 95% water
And there are so many more foods that are just loaded with water – strawberries, cranberries, grapefruit, spinach, oranges, peaches, apricots, raspberries, pineapple and I could go on and on.
Beauty Inside and Out
It seems we go to such extreme’s these days with all the expensive skin care products and this and that – but we don’t take the time to stop and think – that what we’re putting IN our bodies – really has more impact on our skin – than anything we can do on the outside.
COTTAGE CHEESE To HYDRATE?
But DID YOU KNOW – plain old cottage cheese is one of the best remedies for dehydration and will help relieve dehydration fairly quickly by restoring normal levels of sodium and potassium almost in a heart beat? YES!!!
We have always got Cottage Cheese in our frig in the summer time – and Billy likes it mainly just plain – but occasionally – he’ll ask me to put a little curshed pineapple in it.
Cottage Cheese is such a healthy food – that it’s part of the Budwig Cancer Diet protocol – and mixed with Barlean’s Flax Oil and whipped for 2 minutes with a kitchen mixer – and eaten asap – twice a day – can almost work miracles – and often does. More on that at another time – but soon.
Spinning Wheels Don’t Go Far
When it all comes right down to the brass tacks – we can smear on all the lotions and creams we want – but if we’re not hydrating our bodies from the inside out – we’re just spinning our wheels – and we all know – spinning wheels don’t go very far.
Staying hydrated is absolutely critical to our own well being. Just a little bit of water – on and off all day – will make a world of difference. Try it and you’ll see …

Thanks a lot for this article, it shares some valuable info and cool ideas!
Drinking more water can greatly improve our health and wellbeing.
One small notice, though. Our body absorbs water through intestines, mostly colon. I’m not sure that the way we drink water can influence the absorption. But sipping is definitely the preferred way, as gulping can cause hick-ups and other minor digestive issues.
Thanks again and keep it up!

Still – gulping water – makes that water run right through you. Go gulp down a tall glass right now and see how long it is before you visit the little boys room. TOMORROW – sip water on and off for an hour or 2 and see if that same thing happens. It can’t be absorbed anywhere – if it’s going right through you. Thanks for reading and for your comments. Kay
