I’m working on a new me for 2016 and boy do I have my work cut out for myself. Part of that new me is to start the New Year with a clean house. Now our home is fairly clean all the time – but I’m talking about cleaning closets and drawers – cabinets and all those little behind the scenes nooks and crannies that we don’t give the time to that maybe we should.
We don’t have a housekeeper in Round Knob Canyon that comes in once a week or even once a month. I wouldn’t have a housekeeper myself – because I take great pride in being able to do what it takes to make a house a home myself. AND cleaning and foo fooing and cooking and baking – just all bring me great joy. Sounds corny, but it’s true..
Do YOU have big plans for beginning the new year on a better plane? How will you be starting out this New Year on January 1st? Will you start the New Year with a Clean House?
I want to start not only the first day of the New Year with a fairly clean house … but I want to start every day of the year that way. Because clean, neat, tidy, warm and cozy are just very important.
It really is true, we ARE what we surround ourselves with and clutter … just clutters our mind.
Start the New Year with a Clean House! Here’s How …
Complete a “Walk-Through”
Do you ever wonder what other people see or think when they step inside your home?
Do you care?
IF you want to see what others may see or think about your home, try this …
Stand outside your front door, in fact to the end of the sidewalk that leads up to your front door and just look at the front of your home and your yard and analyze it.
”What do ‘other people’ see and think when they look at the front of your home?”
Does it look neat and tidy?
Is it appealing to the eye?
Are the windows clean and the curtains straight?
Is the yard neat and tidy or are there little huddles of toys and mess strewn here and there?
When they step inside your front door, what does the inside of your home say to them?
Is it a haven to rest in or is it in total chaos?
Are there pillows, rugs, pictures or other things that give it personality or character?
Or is it just a room with a little very basic furniture that’s just ‘there’ and maybe a good offering of clutter thrown in for good measure?
When you walk in the door of your home, does it make you say ”Aaaaaaahhh I LOVE this place!”?
You CAN step inside your home and instantly feel at peace with your own little world around you and you can do that – on any budget.
OR you can step inside your home and feel like the safest place is on the OUTSIDE of that front door.
It’s all up to YOU!
What do YOU want to feel when you walk in your home … and DO you feel it?
When a family is moving about it’s EASY to let things get out of control and easy to feel overwhelmed by it all …
