What if we could become younger as the days pass by?
We’ve all heard the question “How old would you think you are by the way you look and feel, if you didn’t really know how old you are?” I’d think I was in my mid 50’s I guess. Now, not that I look a lot younger than my 67 years … but because I do feel a lot younger than my years and we are very active in the work and hard labor department and I feel that helps me become younger and stay younger on a daily basis. 🙂
We’ve just finished putting many huge flower beds to sleep for the winter and trimming and cleaning the entire perimeter of our 5 acres and we do that every other fall and geezer is now cutting our firewood for the winter. I’ll be helping him in a day or so, but I’ve been swamped with this move to our new WordPress blog and seeing to a long, several hour emergency with a Grandma with Alzheimer’s and a hearing aid problem and I just haven’t jumped in the wood cutting and stacking just yet. But I will this week and I’m looking very forward to it. I’ve often said “I would have made a FANTASTIC Pilgrim woman” 🙂
We love to cut our own wood. There’s an old saying “If you cut your own wood, it will warm you twice” And yup … it sure does.
Dr. Norman Walker says “No one is ever too old to become younger!” WOW!!!
But to become younger we have to get out of the lazy rut we’re in and start treating our minds and bodies like we want to become younger.
Dr Walker says that our number of birthday years only records the passing of time and that a person of 40 can seem like 80 or a person of 80 can seem like 50. It all boils down to how we treat our bodies and the kinds of food and drink we put into our bodies.
To become younger, our cells in our bodies must be nourished and made strong and healthy.
He says “The condition of our body at any given time is the direct result of the mental and physical care it has been given” Now that makes sense … to ME!
Dr. Walker also says that mental care is as important as physical because we can’t expect to have a healthy body if we’re always thinking doom and gloom and if we think every little pain we have after age 50 is the Grim Reaper walking up our sidewalk. And that no one can be happy if they’re always allowing themselves to think negative and no one can be healthy if we’re obsessed with the fear of the ravages of old age.” Well HEY!!! I feel younger already, just typing that … how bout you?
To become younger …
we simply have to get out of the bad food rut we’re now in and start putting healthy and nourishing foods and juices into our bodies.
I’ve told you before about the very senior folks at the Golden Carrot and I’d be asked to guess their ages and I’d guess in their 60’s or so and they’d ALL turn out to be in their 80’s or even 90’s. Well that was entirely from healthy diet, exercise and drinking carrot juice daily. They were all SO vibrant with rosey cheeks and virtually no wrinkles. It was amazing! I called them my cartoon people because they looked so perfect. And minds? OH my GOODNESS … their minds were sharp as tacks … and they were all so energetic and funny. I guess we could also call them “Stepford Seniors” … remember the perfect “Stepford Wives?”
And remember the man who came in the Golden Carrot and he was there to buy a juicer because he had been out of town for 2 weeks and accused his girlfriend of having a facelift and she had just bought a juicer and been juicing carrots. So this stuff works, it really does!
I’m sure you’ve heard the joke about the little boy that was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said “Alive” 🙂 But then we grow into adulthood and we spend 1/3 of our days every day doing things that are detrimental to our bodies and our health. Now WHAT is THAT all about?
If we want to become younger, where do we begin? We begin by becoming disciplined and backing off on the harmful foods … the sugar and white flour and processed foods and high carb foods and we start adding lots of greens, beans, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, nuts and seeds and fresh vegetable juices that are going to only nourish our cells and build us up instead of tearing us down.
In birthday years, I’ll be 68 on November 10th, but I want to begin practicing how to become younger today. How about you?
I wonder how much younger I can make my body think it IS?
WHAT a CHALLENGE!!!
Won’t you join me? Let’s do this together.
Let’s become younger … together … you and me!
