Will You Make Your Friday The Best It Can Be?
Will YOU make your Friday – and even this weekend – the best it can be for you and those closest to you? What can you do yourself – and alone – to make that happen? One thing that I try to do daily – no matter how busy I am – is to try my best to make my days and the days of this old geezer – the best they can be. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed and over scheduled – even if you’re just working around your own home.
I am the queen – of getting way too many irons in the fire on any given day –
Like today for instance – I’ll start my day after I leave my desk – by making several good – but healthy – snacks – for this old Geezer – because this is Talladega weekend – and he plans to spend a good bit of time in his recliner this weekend – and if I don’t have ‘healthy snacks’ he’ll eat 2-3 buckets of ice cream in just this 3 days :-0 SO I have to be ready for his snacking binges –
He said he MAY mow the yard first – if it looks like it won’t wait till Monday 
AND THEN – I have to do several things around the house this morning and head to the doctor for my physical. Usually I hate doing this – but I was so sure just 2 days ago I was also going to have to be going to the DENTIST – I’m just glad now – to be going to just the DOCTOR And then there are 3-4 stops I have to make before I head home to the canyon –
AND THEN –
Patiently waiting for me on my work station once I get settled back in at the canyon – will be my 3rd Junk Book Journal – “The Lost Book of Grandma’s Secrets” and OH my GOODNESS – THIS BOOK!!!

Every time I’m working on a book – I say to Billy and Kim ‘Oh THIS is my FAVORITE” :8)
But THIS ONE!!! OH Lordy MERCY!!!
I had a hard time getting this junk journal going – and I couldn’t understand that – because I had the idea for this homemade junk book journal in my head – ages before I started it –
And THEN I got to thinking – ‘maybe this is GOD’ slowing me down – until He can get my attention – because maybe, just maybe – He wants to have some input on this particular junk book.
Well – you can believe that or not – but this is the way I think and the way MY mind – WORKS. If something isn’t going just right for ME – the first thing I do is look up and say “Ok God WHAT??? WHAT IS IT that you’re WANTING or WHAT IN THE WORLD am I doing WRONG?
Now that I’m well into this 3rd book – I realize now that – yes – He WAS wanting to have some input on this book – so I turned over the reigns to Him and off we went.
All you can see is a sneak peek in the photo below – and all that fabric and lace and that big question mark – laying on top – are to camouflage and just give a peek I AM SO EXCITED about this BOOK!!!
It will be full of old remedies that were literally from the 1940’s and before – and diary pages of an old woman from that era – and hints and secrets and words of wisdom – that this old woman wanted to pass long to those who followed her.
It’s going to be a treasure – that’s for sure –
I HAVE now bought a Canon 300 PowerShot – to do my own videos. Kim is so absolutely swamped with her own schedule – and I wanted to get the first 2 journals posted and sold – but it turns out I don’t even know how to work a new fangled camera – so I’m still waiting on Kim – but at least – we have a state of the art – video system set up – and ready to roll when ‘we’ are.
Journal books – ready and waiting for me to get my act in gear are –
“Thinkin’ Bout Home” and regardless of our age – we all have memories of the homes we grew up in – and hopefully those memories are precious memories – I know mine sure are – so thinkin’ bout home – is just reminiscing for me – back to the 1940’s and 50’s – and that book is a treasure if I do say so myself.
And “The Lost Art of Homemaking” – well that’s just homemaking at it’s finest – like the homemakers knew about back in the 1950’s….and yup I’m stuck in the 1950’s – there’s no doubt about that …
I’m finding that even a reclusive old homemaker – can ‘play’ and have a ball – and I am absolutely LOVING making these junk book journals.
I hope you all have a most fantabulous – grand and groovy day today – I’m looking forward to a weekend filled with hours at my work station this weekend – getting up only to wait on Geezer and then church Sunday – Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise ……. Well and having just said that – I’m wondering if there are yard sales in the morning and if anyone but me is cleaning the church – so I need to check THAT out – lol so I may be out for just a bit – but mainly at the work station …
