If we really want to eat healthy and give our body and appetites what they so desperately need?
Let’s just talk a minute about eating for holistic health and a few specific foods that will nourish our bodies instead of deplete it of the nutrients it so needs.
Boost your Immune System with the Right Snacks!
What better thing could we DO than snack to boost our immune system? Because without a strong immune system … we are sitting dead in the water just waiting to be shot down. REALLY !!! :-0
Boost your Immune System with Carrots, Bell Peppers and Dark Leafy Greens
Carrots, bell peppers and dark leafy greens are SUPER immune builders. They’re loaded with Vitamin A and that protects the body from infection because those foods will moisten the mucous membranes and produce healing enzymes.
Now THAT sounds good to ME. We LOVE carrot juice and even slices of bell pepper are absolutely delicious. So cold and juicy and flavorful!
But would you choose them if they were sitting beside a nice gooey piece of chocolate cake and you had to choose one or the other?
Probably not … HOWEVER those things would both be so much better for you.
Boost your Immune System with Nuts and Seeds
We snack on nuts a lot in the canyon. I’ve always got a little bowl of walnuts or brazil nuts or sunflower seeds, almonds or other seeds or nuts sitting on the little table in the kitchen. Now I just keep a few in there and we eat them daily and fresh nuts and seeds are put IN that bowl each morning.
Nuts and seeds have tremendous health benefits! They’re full of good fats, fiber and they help get PH in good standing. They also play a big roll in warding off some cancers and alzheimer’s. Now a few nuts a day by themselves will not keep you from getting cancer … but it’s all the good little things we do each day that mount up.
Papaya, strawberries, blueberries, citrus, broccoli … These things are high in Vitamin C and Vitamin C is a HUGE immune booster.
It also stimulates the production of white blood cells and white blood cells attack the bad invaders that try to get in our bodies.
Immune Boosting Snack
If you want an absolutely delicious snack that is SUPER healthy … try a little saucer with just a few walnut halves, a few blueberries, and a small slice of cheese.
That’s almost like a magic bullet to stabilize your blood sugar and turn off your cravings.
Just remember … you don’t have to set any world records … because it IS … the little things and they all mount up!
